Contributed to the development of a drone-mounted peristaltic water sampling payload for the DJI M600, designed to enable UAV-based water quality assessment for clients including Sydney Water. The system allowed water samples to be collected remotely from locations inaccessible by boat, dramatically reducing the personnel, time, and cost of traditional sampling operations.
Work involved hardware design and prototyping of the pump payload, integrating a peristaltic mechanism capable of drawing samples at depth while remaining within the weight and balance constraints of the M600 airframe.
